When legislation passed making cannabis legal in New York one of the provisions was that it would be legal to grow 18 months after the first commercial sale was made so that there would be time to create regulations. The first sale was made on December 29th, 2022. Making July of this year the first month that consumers can legally grow in their own homes! ...with regulations of course.

The basic Guidelines from the Office of Cannabis Management specify that adults 21 years and older may grow up to 6 plants for personal use. 3 mature and 3 immature plants, with a maximum of 12 plants per household. 

It's also legal to grow as a registered medical patient or caregiver. A patient can grow 3 and 3 as above, but a caregiver can grow for up to 4 patients, and no more than 12 plants.

What Kind would you like to grow? while it's true that depending on the amount of space you have some strains won't do quite as well indoors, growers have been doing this indoors for many years so many many more strains do quite well, and you can choose seeds with just the balance of THC or CBD you are looking for. Indica strains do better indoors generally but there are Sativa varieties that do very well also. The choices are wide open these days.

No, not really. Gone are the days when giant, grow lights could make your electric meter spin and raise the temperature in your home. The new OLED lights are much more efficient producing very bright light with very little heat. 

It can be but it's easily dealt with. The plants can become smelly mostly when they are flowering, but the available filters and ionizers are quite effective in eliminating odor from the surrounding areas.

None really! Just about any plant, fruit, vegetable or flower can be grown hydroponically and they are grown that way commercially around the world.
